THE SUMMER PALACE

The Summer Palace, formerly known as the garden of clear ripples, is situated in the western suburbs of Beijing. It covers an area of about 290 hectares and is adjacent to the Summer Palace. It is the most complete preservation of a royal palace court, known as the "royal garden museum."


Daquan Scenic Spot

Before the emperor qianlong came to power in qing dynasty, four large imperial gardens were built in the western suburbs of Beijing. E mperor qianlong (1750) built itin the 15th year ofhis reign, used 4.48 million silver for filial piety to his mother, named saint empress Xiao. It was transformed into qingyi garden, whichwasused as a royal garden district 20 kilometers long from the present qinghua garden to xiangshan.

 

——Suzhou street

Suzhou street is also known as "business street", including lake on both sides as a copy of jiangnan water town. There are all kinds of shops on the bank in the period of qingyi. There is always business when he visited.

 

——Longevity hill

Wanshou mountain belongs to the yuvein of yanshan, 58.59 meters high. The building structure is found close to the mountain, in front of wanshou mountain, there is Pavilion of the Fragrance of Buddha as a centerwith eight sides, three layers and four eaves.


——Most of four states

The four major states are in the middle of wanshou mountain, which is a sino-tibetan architectural structure. In front of it, there was a sumeru spiritual realm (now a platform), with 3-meters high buddhist scriptures on both sides, and the pavilion of xiangyanzong seal., It is the main building of the whole temple group. All around are eight small continents, built with different forms of towers, symbolize the buddhist world.

 

——The marble seventeen-arch bridge

The 17-arch bridge is located on kunming lake, between the east bank and nanhu island, connecting the causeway island. It ,is the largest stone bridge in the park. The stone bridge is 8 meters wide and 150 meters long, consists of 17 bridge holes. B oth side of the railing were carved with different type s of stone lions,  more than 500.
